Vampire 2 Love

Queen N.

Guys say most girls love bad boys. Key phrase "bad boys." For one thing, bad boys are humans and are suppose to act like humans. Okay, what am I getting at? I just want to know when it became "cool" to love Vampires. I decided that I was going to write about this when I overhead a girl in a mall, not more than eight years old, singing something that ended with a line that said "...and I need a vampire to love." I could not believe my ears. I laughed of course but then I was like, this is not so funny. Does she understand what Vampires are or what they are supposed to be? She may have sung that song with the mindset that Vampires brooding, good looking guys, which is a big misconception.

Recent books, movies, and TV shows have done a good job in down-playing Vampires. My early knowledge of Vampires was this vicious creatures that looked like humans but were deadly. Of course they came out at night and caught humans for food. I did not remember ever thinking of them as good-looking or that they could somehow come out in day light and blend with humans. I imagined they looked pale and didn't have any patience to consider if they had feelings for any human. They just bite humans. How did we get to this stage were Vampires now interact with humans, literary? The media, as well as us individuals have made these mythical creatures compassionate, affectionate, and less harmful. It is right to do that? Shouldn't we try to tell the stories of Vampires as it is so that generations to come would know the true nature of Vampires and not get the myth confused?

Influence

Military Inspired Dress

I think it's cool how fashion seems to be influenced by everything. You hear some fashion designers say they get their inspiration from things they see on the street. Some go as far as saying that as they stare at their breakfasts or lunches, colors and patterns come to them. I like when this is the case because it shows that fashionable ideas will keep existing forever. Fruits have inspired fashion. Insects and animals too. Objects around us and even our beliefs, values, and cultures have inspired fashion. I have seen an umbrella inspired outfit; a dance inspired outfit; and even a sea shell inspired outfit. What I'm basically getting at is that fashion tends to sip ideas from an ever flowing fountain and this gives the fashion industry hopes of coming up with more and more fashion trends.

Michelle and The Dress

AP

I just cannot ignore the fact that Michelle Obama wore an Alexander McQueen dress to the White House State Dinner a few days ago. Why? Because it was, wait for it, "Awesome." This is certainly not the first time Mrs. Obama has wowed me with the "Not-a-Typical-President's-Wife-Style," and I am loving it. I am definitely tired of seeing the wives of political dignitaries wearing boring suits like that is the only option they have. I hope this trend of awesomeness that Mrs. Obama is portraying continues because we need to see stylish women in politics. As for bloggers who call her "sexy arms," and for the media that call her "muscled and toned,"I support your nicknames for Mrs. Obama because they are true if you pay attention to her dressing. But my personal favorite nickname is "Fit A** Guns."

Vamp Collar

I'm surprised that fashion innovators and designers out there haven't incorporated stiff popped collars to their designs. I'm talking about what I call "Vamp collar." Older vampires like Count Dracula, before our modern day vampires that wear H&M-like outfits, use to wear popped collars that gave edge, and fun to the clothing worn.
The Vamp collar is just something I've realized is missing in today's fashion. If designers use this collars on their jackets or shirts, I assure them that they'll have people who will purchase them. I will definitely be one of them! These days, with the bitter-sweet love fans are having for vampires, I'm sure adopting this fashion won't be too hard.

I've Been Switched

I do not really pay attention to the horoscope. I only read the horoscope when I come across them in magazines or online. The change that was made recently bothers me and I can't explain why. I use to be an Aquarius but I'm now a Capricorn. This change in my zodiac sign hasn't changed me in any way but it is just interesting to notice my unease like something important has been taken away from me. Well, check out the change below:

TERMINATION ORDERS Code Name Cobra

What an intimidating title right? I get amazed at stunts that are performed in action movies, some I know are impossible to do, and some I wonder if a person would actually survive if tried in real life. Then I get the rare opportunity to meet a person whose real life had action like a Bourne movie.

The intimidating title on this blog is the name of a thriller novel based on a former Black Ops contractor and his dangerous, yet captivating missions and assignments. You will follow the life of Dan Morgan, the character, and take every step he takes. You will find yourself asking if he made the right decision. You will itch with curiosity over the suspense. You will scream at the plot twists and curse at a double-crossing agent. You will take a journey to hot spots like Iran, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, and so many countries and you will root for Dan Morgan to survive the torture from the drug ring and terrorists.

The experience of reading this book is different for me because I know the person who Dan Morgan is based on. I get the luxury of putting him in the different scenarios and I can definitely see how things play out. I hope you get this book and take the thrill ride with me. See you on the last page of TERMINATION ORDERS Code Name Cobra.
